Sen. Orie and Rep. Smith to Hold Press Conference on Allergy Medication and Diabetes in Schools

Senate Majority Whip Jane C. Orie (R-40) and Representative Matt Smith (D-42) will hold a press conference on Tuesday, June 9th at 9:30 a.m. in the Capitol Media Center to promote their legislation that would amend the Pennsylvania School Code by providing additional protections to students who suffer from severe allergies and diabetes and need access to medications and treatment.

Senator Orie and Representative Smith have introduced companion legislation in the Senate and House on the issues:

• Senate Bill 736 & House Bill 1336 (Allergy Medication)
• Senate Bill 737 & House Bill 1113 (Diabetes Management)

Senator Orie and Representative Smith will be joined by representatives of the American Lung Association, PA Society of Respiratory Care, American Diabetes Association, and families and students that that need access to life-saving medication.
