Internship Program

If you are a college student looking for a chance to learn more about state government and public service and want to make a difference in our community, then you may be the perfect candidate for an internship in one of Senator Orie's district offices.  Interns gain valuable experience and take part in a wide variety of activities, including assisting the district office staff in areas of constituent relations, constituent outreach, communications and various other tasks.  Interns will be required to:

• Handle constituent problems/concerns and refer problems/concerns to the proper agency/senate staff member.
• Prepare correspondence; procure copies of legislation and/or other state-related documents or information requested by constituents.
• Assist with various outreach projects.
• Learn about state and federal legislation affecting area residents.
• Spend a day in Harrisburg with Senator Orie and get a unique view of what really happens at the state Capitol.
